and my boys in Rwanda were in it.
it was the first time i dreamed about them.
pat and i were both there.
in Rwanda.
at the orphanage.
it was more like a "mall" feeling than what i picture the orphanage to be.
pat talked to the "guy" (?) and the guy said, since you brought your paperwork to me and it all looks good, come back on Monday and you can take them with you. (it was friday)
we got to go in the rooms to choose who our sons would be.
there was a toddler room. it was very bright...lots of white...
and a baby room. it was darker.
and a newborn room. we couldn't go in there.
it was so hard to choose.
but i knew who you were.
and then i woke up.

an email response to a stranger
i love to read. i read a LOT of books. but i also think people base too many of their "ideas" on parenting/marriage/LIFE! on books and not on the Word of God...i think the Bible has all we need to know in it...and i try to be careful not to spend more time gaining wisdom from "men" and not from God. so, i hesitate to list a bunch of books on adoption, etc.
God loves orphans. and He's called us to care for them. and He will give us the love/wisdom/finances to do His work. sounds simple. maybe too simple. but i also think it's true.
